How to Cure Burnout
Helping you reset.
Recognizing the signs:
Difficulty focusing
Easily frustrated or irritated
Having a sense of numbness
Fatigue and insomnia
Negative feelings towards work or coworkers
Difficulty enjoying hobbies
These can often lead to serious health concerns such as cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and depression.
It is important to recognize the source of the burnout. It is most often associated with a job or career but there are other sources as well. Is it associated with work, classes, relationship problems, etc.? Once you identify the source, you can start a plan to cure your burnout.
Here's how you can cure your burnout:
Identify the source- When you can identify what is causing the burnout you can start to think about what your options are.
Examine options- Find out what you can do to help your burnout. Are you at a job you feel stuck at? If so, an option would be to start looking for other jobs.
Set boundaries- If you are being given too heavy of a workload or are being asked to stay late/come in early and this is causing a burnout, then set a boundary with your work and only do what you are comfortable with.
Take control- If you are experiencing burnout from being overwhelmed, try taking control of the things you can fix. Create a schedule for yourself and start with the smaller tasks.
Talk to people you trust- It can often be difficult to go through things alone. When you open up to people you trust, they can give advice and help you through it.
